There is something special about Holland

There is something special about Holland and the Breeders Course. Last year they won all three finals and now Robin Bakker/Paul Hagoort started with a victory in the first elimination race.

– We work for the big races, so this was fun, said a visibly satisfied Bakker after the win with Yin Yang.

– I had a good feeling when we went up to the start. He has been training well since January and had a good qualifying run at Wolvega before this start.

Yin Yang (Bold Eagle–Countess Lobell and thus a brother to Usain Lobell) started three times as a 2-year-old, then had a break before preparing for one this season. And the winter training seems to have went out well.

– He felt really good and should be able to get a little better for the final at Solvalla.

And Robin has fond memories of that final. He won it in 2022 with Hurricane DK and trainer Hagoort took a triple victory.

Now Paul Hagoort also has a branch in Sweden, just outside Stockholm, where there are already ten horses. So the million final at Solvalla will be home ground for Yin Yang.

Also included in the final was Epsom As (trained by Reijo Liljedahl and driven by Ulf Ohlsson). He fight against the winner during the final lap and gave in extremely reluctantly.

The victory time 1.14.0/2140 meters gossip that it was a candidate for the final victory that we saw in the first elimination race.

Now the Breeders Course continues with the second elimination race already on Saturday at Jägersro.

Footnote: It was Dion Tesselaar who won the other two finals.
