Double victory for Jerry Riordan

Jerry Riordan had a great evening when the two Breeders Course eliminations were decided at Jägersro and Solvalla. At Solvalla Pure Atlas won and at Jägersro Dea Grif.

And it was two identical performances, quickly to the lead and then no one came close to the talented three-year-olds.

– It is a slightly special horse, but really good, Jerry Riordan said about Pure Atlas. And it was Riordan himself who himself went to Solvalla as both trainer and groom.

- If I may say so myself, I was good as a groom, Jerry joked.

But to take it more seriously, Pure Atlas really impressed. Of course he was a little bit to keen, but when Örjan Kihlström asked for a little more in the end, he certainly walked away.

– Pure Atlas has something to brag about, his mother Queen Cash is the sister of Red Red Red who won the Derbysto and Beau Mec who won the Derby. There are many good three-year-olds, but he is good himself.

Behind Pure Atlas, Jewilla (Mats Djuse/Stefan Melander) finished well to second place and is thus also ready for the final at Solvalla.

At Jägersro, it was Dea Grif who hade the lead role. Quickly to the lead and then no one came close.

– She was very nice today, opened quickly and then I had to slow down tempo a bit. When I could then accelerate during the final lap, it felt really good, talented driver Gustav Johansson said.

Dea Grif has started her career strong, but this was her first victory. Maybe help that she started without shoes for the first time.

Behind Dea Grif, Expelled and Adrian Kolgjini finished strong and took the second final place.

This means that before the two of the final eliminations, in Wolvega and Åby, the following horses are qualified for the final at Solvalla: Tetrick Wania, Show Your Guts, Urban Africa, Point of View, Pure Atlas, Jewilla, Dea Grif and Expelled.

The final will be decided on Sunday 29 May with SEK one million for the winner.
