The duel that did not take place.
The fourth elimination at Breeders Course 3 years old 2020 Second Final looked in advance to be a duel between Hell Bent for Am and Bolero Gar, the first and second from Breeders Course 3 years old 2020 First Final. But then Hell Bent for Am was a not running for a minor wound, the road was open for Bolero Gar, trained by Timo Nurmos and driven by Jorma Kontio.
Kontio took the big favorite very calmly the first 200 meters, took the position outside the leader and guarded the field from that position. Into the homestretch, Bolero Gar then decided easily and won with strength left.
- A very nice horse, praised Jorma Kontio.
Bolero Gar is owned and bred in Italy, he also started his career there before joining Timo Nurmos in February. Bolero Gar has made three starts for Nurmos, starting with a second place behind the Finnish star Magical Princess, continued with a second place behind Hell Bent for Am in Breeders Course 3 years old 2020 First Final during the Elitloppsweekend. So now came the first victory and the victory time 1.12.1 is not ashamed of itself.
Behind Bolero Gar, Armani Degato took second place. Last year's runner up in the Svensk Uppfödningslöpning was clearly improved, trainer Svante Båth had made some changes to the equipment and despite Armani Degato being a little bit keen during the race, he finished well to second place which also means a place in the final on July 28 at Jägersro.
Kuyt F.Boko, Barty Laksmy, Bengurion Jet, Boltigeur Erre, Önas Prince and Wild West Diamant have already been qualified for the final.
July 14: Jägersro.
July 28: Jägersro.
Note: Two best from each elimination to the final, 10 horses in the final.
